From December 5th to 9th, 2018 National Finals of “FLTRP Cup” English Contests were held in Beijing. Jin Qianwen, from College of International Languages and Cultures won the third prize in the national final of English Public Speaking Contest, and Hou Siyu from College of Environment won the first prize in the national final of English Reading Contest.

The “FLTRP Cup” Contests for college students is a national event jointly hosted by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, National Foreign Languages Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education, National Advisory Board on Teaching English Language to Majors in Higher Education under the Ministry of Education and National Research Centre for Foreign Language Education. The competition brought together elite students from various universities and colleges who fully demonstrated high spirit and ambition of foreign language talents as well as their courage and willingness to take challenges. The competition is not only a platform for college students to show their talent, but also a communication medium for China’s foreign language education in higher education. “FLTRP Cup” is not only a name; it is a symbol and a spirit,  the spirit of perseverance and rigor in English learning.
