An evening party entitled “To Be With You 2017” was successfully held by this college on Sept. 29th to extend earnest welcome to the freshmen of 2017 and also to celebrate the National Day as well as Mid-Autumn Festival. Leaders, teaching faculty and all the students from this college enjoyed a visual feast together. Prof. Cai Bin, Dean of the college, made a speech at the party.
The welcome party provided a stage for students to showcase youth energy, with the college spirit of “Truthful, Open, Inclusive and Outstanding” at its core. It started with the moving performances from Sign Language Club, accompanied by touching wishes from parents. All the performances were beautiful and exciting, including cultural instrumental performance named My Heart Like the Moon, graceful and peaceful recitation of To The Oak, dazzling dances and haunting songs by the freshmen of 2017. Students of other grades also performed energetic Chinese Martial Arts called World For The Youth as well as a solo of Safe and sound. What’s more, even the teaching faculty took an active part in the party and gave a cheongsam show, while some leaders from this college sang songs to welcome the newcomers. The party ended successfully, which started another journey for this college.
The welcome party integrated many types of performing arts like musical instrument performance, singing, dancing, recitation and martial arts, from which we had great fun and learned more about growing-up. (Reported by Jiang Yiqing)
