On behalf of Model United Nations(MUN) of HHU, Guo Xiaoling(a Senior), Xiong Xiaoqin(a Junior) and Li Ziwei(a Sophomore) from this college attended “Meet The World, Meet The Future – Beijing Model United Nations 2016”(BMUM) held between May 6th and 8th , 2016.
At the 30th Special Session of the MUN General Assembly, Guo Xiaoling stood for the UK and played a key role in DR( Draft Resolution) writing and voting; Xiong Xiaoqin spoke for India in the Economic and Social Council, leading Southeast Asian countries to revise DR and its amendments; Li Ziwei represented Israel to actively contact EU member states and AU member states in the MUN Disarmament and International Security Committee, having done a good job in drafting Working Paper, Treaty, DR and other documents.
The three students were calm, confident and dignified when faced with challenges from other students, and hence have achieved diplomatic success and got positive comments from the audience members. Their fluent English and good writing ability have helped spread the fame of HHU and won themselves many friends.
BMUN is the most important of the same events. It provides a unique platform for students to deepen their understanding of both international relations and operation of the United Nations. It has been regarded as the highest academic level MUN competition in China. The opening ceremony was held in Diaoyutai State Guest House, attracting many important guests from home and abroad to participate in it.
