The opening ceremony on the 18th began with a talent show, in which the students of this college introduced to their American teachers Chinese history, culture and traditional arts by doing calligraphy, playing traditional musical instruments such as guzheng and erhu, staging Peking Opera, and practicing kongfu. Then in return, the American teachers introduced their culture by telling their own personal stories before playing games with the students. During the 7 days, the students and their teachers from America had intensive face-to-face interaction.
The “Exchange Week” activities were very interesting and colorful, thus warmly welcomed by the participants. Prof. Du Hui, Vice Dean of the college, and Miss Gwen Crotts expressed their happiness in their addresses at the closing ceremony, both voicing their hope that the event would help to promote cultural exchanges.
The activities were greatly supported and helped by the International Cooperation Department and Academic Affairs Office of HHU.
