Professor Professor Du Hui attended a three-day international conference held in the University of Hong Kong in June of 2014.At the conference themed “ Faces of English: Theory, Practice and Pedagogy” Prof. Du made a speech titled “Edging input-based teaching of College English”. It was an important academic event with over 500 linguists from all parts of the world to participate in, including renowned scholars like Rod Ellis, David Nunan, Bonny Norton, Ken Hyland, and Wen Qiufang.Scholars shared their latest achievements in linguistic studies by giving keynote speeches, taking part in group discussion or speaking at forums. What’s worth mentioning is that the well-received speech titled “Teaching as input” made by Rod Ellis, a leading linguist whose ideas are hailed as very innovative and inspiring, has confirmed Prof. Du’s research on edging input-based teaching of College English.
