From May 24 to 25, sponsored by the Translation Association of Jiangsu Province and Nanjing Translator Association, Yangzhou university’s Foreign Language and Culture College held the Translation Association annual meeting and academic seminar of Jiangsu province in 2014. The vice president of the College of International Languages and cultures of Hohai University, Professor Cai Bin attended the meeting and was elected as the standing director of the 6th Translation Association of Jiangsu Province.

More than 170 scholars attended the meeting and submitted 105 papers. Taking “translation teaching and application”, “translation theory and reconstruction” and “translation appreciation and criticism” as its main topics, this meeting reviewed, discussed and summarized comprehensively the translation teaching and research in theory and practice, especially the poetic wisdom of Chinese traditional translation aesthetics and its modern significance.
